Athena\u2019s AI technology has successfully performed target recognition and battle tracking for a nighttime flight of Red Cat\u2019s Teal 2<\/em><\/strong><\/p>

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, June 20, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) —\u00a0Red Cat Holdings, Inc.<\/u><\/a>\u00a0(Nasdaq: RCAT) (\u201cRed Cat\u201d or the \u201cCompany\u201d), a military technology company integrating robotic hardware and software to protect and support the warfighter,\u00a0today announces\u00a0it has completed the\u00a0second phase\u00a0of its artificial\u00a0intelligence and computer-vision\u00a0partnership with\u00a0Athena AI<\/u><\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>

Athena was first\u00a0announced<\/u><\/a>\u00a0as\u00a0a\u00a0partner for Red Cat\u2019s\u00a0Teal 2<\/u><\/a>\u00a0military-grade drone in March.\u00a0Now,\u00a0by\u00a0processing\u00a0video\u00a0that the Teal 2\u2019s thermal-imaging\u00a0sensor recorded during a nighttime test flight,\u00a0Athena\u2019s technology has\u00a0successfully performed\u00a0target recognition and battle tracking. This capability allows commanders fast decision-making on the battlefield with artificial intelligence assistance.<\/p>

Australia-based Athena, an AI-enabled military decision-support company, has licensed to Red Cat its proprietary\u00a0computer-vision architecture, which allows high-speed tracking of objects and, at slower speeds, in-depth data exploitation. Athena\u2019s solution can\u00a0identify\u00a0weapons,\u00a0humans\u00a0and other\u00a0targets\u00a0at night, as well as Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) markers, such as\u00a0Cyalume\u00a0HALOs and IR beacons.\u00a0<\/p>
