SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, June 21, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) —\u00a0Red Cat Holdings, Inc.<\/u><\/a>\u00a0(Nasdaq: RCAT) (\u201cRed Cat\u201d or the \u201cCompany\u201d), a military technology company integrating robotic hardware and software to protect and support the warfighter, today announces that its new military-grade sUAS, the\u00a0Teal 2<\/u><\/a>, has received clearance from the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) to be designated as a\u00a0Blue UAS<\/u><\/a>.<\/p>

The\u00a0Blue UAS Cleared List<\/a>\u00a0is a select group of DoD-approved drones for government users. According to the DoD, these drones \u201care\u00a0NDAA<\/a>\u00a0compliant, validated as cyber-secure and safe to fly, and are available for government purchase and operation.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>

The Teal 2 is the second sUAS from Red Cat subsidiary Teal Drones to have passed the rigorous testing required for Blue UAS clearance. Teal\u2019s legacy sUAS, the Golden Eagle, is also on the cleared list, which currently includes fewer than 20 drones in total.<\/p>

Blue UAS is an initiative of the\u00a0Defense Innovation Unit (DIU)<\/u><\/a>, the only DoD organization focused on accelerating the adoption of commercial and dual-use technology to solve operational challenges at speed and scale. This acceleration strengthens national security and helps grow the national security innovation base.<\/p>

Officially\u00a0launched<\/u><\/a>\u00a0in April, the Teal 2 is designed to\u00a0Dominate the Night\u2122<\/u><\/a>\u00a0and arrives as the world\u2019s leading sUAS for night operations. The Teal 2 is the first sUAS to be equipped with\u00a0Teledyne FLIR<\/u><\/a>‘s new Hadron 640R sensor, providing end users with the highest resolution thermal imaging in a small form factor. The Teal 2 also offers the latest intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance technology, delivering time-critical information and enabling operators to make faster, smarter decisions.<\/p>
