SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, Sept. 20, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) —\u00a0Red Cat Holdings, Inc.<\/u><\/a>\u00a0(Nasdaq: RCAT) (“Red Cat” or the “Company”), a\u00a0drone\u00a0technology company integrating robotic hardware and software for military,\u00a0government\u00a0and commercial operations,\u00a0today\u00a0announces that\u00a0subsidiary\u00a0Teal Drones has signed $1.8\u00a0million\u00a0in contracts\u00a0with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to provide\u00a0Teal 2<\/u><\/a>\u00a0systems\u00a0to\u00a0U.S. Border Patrol.\u00a0<\/p>

Teal will\u00a0deliver\u00a0106\u00a0Teal 2\u00a0drones\u00a0plus spare parts and training.\u00a0Border Patrol\u00a0is\u00a0using\u00a0the\u00a0Teal 2\u00a0to\u00a0provide\u00a0supplemental\u00a0airborne reconnaissance, surveillance and tracking capability, enhancing situational awareness for U.S. field commanders and agents.\u00a0<\/p>

The\u00a0single-source\u00a0contract\u00a0is part of a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA)\u00a0between\u00a0CBP and\u00a0five drone companies,\u00a0announced in December 2021,\u00a0with\u00a0a total estimated value of $90 million over a five-year period.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

Last October,\u00a0CBP had\u00a0initially\u00a0ordered\u00a054\u00a0Teal\u00a0drones\u00a0for U.S. Border Patrol\u00a0in\u00a0a contract worth just over $1 million.\u00a0<\/p>
